Not sure if I'm correct on this,But. The idea was that the blood contains the life. Ingesting blood was thought to cause immorality. The same for sushi. Emperors of China or Japan ate raw fish flesh before it died thinking the live flesh would cause them immortality. The evidence of course shows it didn't work.
The only thing possible the world needs saving from are the ones running it.
Oh lord, save us from those wanting to save us.
