The main development team for Blender is in Amsterdam, I'd like to visit them.

I didn't know that. I enjoy playing with 3D programs., but have never used Blender seriously. I just spent 3 weeks getting into zBrush 4R8 as a total newbie. I must say that once I overcame the initial activation energy, I am starting to really like it. It is an incredible tool, so different to Rhino and Cinema 4D, both of which I've been using for some years.

So far not so bad I think...probably need some of the women from the forum to come along, any volunteers?  8)

P.S. If volunteering please possibly include ways you could assist the mission trip, whether it be logistical, advisory, etc...

I may have missed it, but what exactly is the Good News we're giving to the nuns, and can females do this or is it male specific?

We will be spreading the good news of Atheism to any and all who are receptive of it's saving Grace, regardless of gender, sexual orientation and religious flavor. (Mostly will just be having wicked fun, but for tax and expense purposes you'll want to occasionally ask those whom you may encounter while in Amsterdam if they believe in god or gods, and/or have they ever considered going full out to the dark side, and becoming an atheist. We'll have little Chick-Tracts and literature you can hand out....mostly just condom packages with "Atheist's Can't Sin" written on the back, sorry, but best I could do on short notice)

Weill it sounds like we have quite the group of volunteers as I show the following HAF individuals are going so far: we have Davin, Tom, Hermes, Tank, Mags, xSP, Guardian, Bruce, Books (Yes you are coming with us Books, you can be our cultural advisor).
Am I missing anyone?

By the way his Grayness, Asmo has said he will foot the bill for our trip. We just have to send him some postcards, and pick him up a t-shirt or two.

HAF 2018 Amsterdam Mission trip

Need someone to design a really cool logo for the trip...

Am I allowed to bring my 18-year old "butler"?

Thank you so much for the concession. I will make sure he does not fly the coop (or cage).

I know Amsterdam quite well. I was born there and I went there to school.
If you want I could send you a list of affordable restaurants that offer great food.
Beware of pickpockets!
Bit late for that... >:(

I'm not going if she's not included.  :foottap:

We need Dave and his toolbox in case anything gets broken and for his moderating influence.

I actually do want to visit Amsterdam, I'll have to look up the prices of things and try to budget for it.

Me? Moderating influence? WTF?

And there would be only one tool in my box . . .

Since I have been chosen, I have some demands: 1) first class flights and accommodations - since this is a divine mission, nothing but the best will do; 2) unlimited cheese and stroopwafles; 3) Red Light District passes and coupons - the sex workers need our ministry; and 4) free weed. If our needs are not attended to, it will reduce our effectiveness.  Can't have that - we have high standards to uphold.

But...but...I thought we were gonna be spreading the good news of Atheism... :sadcheer:...All this stuff is more like a Catholic type of thing, especially these ones:

I don't need all these stuff, well, maybe the weed, but I'll be happy to travel all the way to Amsterdam using a kayak, an elephant, a camel, a donkey, a horse, etc.  :snooty:

Cultural adviser?  Well this should get interesting fast.  I hope our Chick tracts have pictures of the FSM on them -- I'd love to explain that.

My wife Elaine is most pleased with Amsterdam. She has been there two times to go on a river boat cruise. She loves the place. They also make good cheese and grow some lovely tulips.

What a delightful pipe dream that several of us could meet there....I am not a traveler. I dislike travel because I was kidnapped by Gypsies as a small child.  In this case I could make an exception......but then maybe the regulars would not want to be saddled with a dude who is stoked by windmills.  I like windmills even though I also admire Don Quixote and his tilting efforts. ( I once had a boat that I named Dulcinea)
