I thought they'd be your sort of thing.

Lately when prototyping and such-like, I actually have me some shoe repair background;

what is the advantage of that over a radial arm saw?

Lol. I haven't got a clue as I don't know what a radial arm saw is. I will go look :)

In a non-technical way, that one can be thought of as a radial + arm + saw (It has a "arm," that being the slide cylinders, and it's radial in xy, xz and yz plane)

The advantages and disadvantages depend on your model's features and your use. That piece of kit right there can be tilted every-huwhich-way, which can be beneficial for cutting weird angles in weird directions. Perhaps more limited than an radial arm, but then perhaps not "more limited enough." Also, it appears pretty safe for the end-user, which is absolutely an concern in ye-hobbyist market, and pretty... Cheap, though perhaps not in a bad way.* (Note that I have not used it, but liked what I saw***, so I looked into the specs and watched a vid**)

***See huwhat clever The Asmo did there? Yes? Saw? Hmm? Yes. :smilenod: Brilliant word play. :smilenod:

That's a nice tool! I have a 10" compound miter saw. In retrospect, I shouldn't have been so cheap and gone for a 12" slider. I see the vac attachment is taped on. Practically every tool I have has a different size port for the vac. I use a lot of tape as a result. I know guys who have 3-D printers (none local to me) who have made adapters for their tools so that the vac hose fits them all without using tape.

Tank

Size and cost by the look of it. This is quite small and only cost £120.

I have used all kinds of PVC water pipe connectors for dust extraction. And the ubiquitous duct tape :)

Hmm. I have a lathe. Maybe I can turn some plumbing fittings and limit my use of tape.
