How do you work a toaster? I mean, how do you get that right kind of brown? Not black like my hole or light like my skin.

My phone only gets me into trouble. What can I do to fix the problem?

For a start, never refer to the device you are sharing your life with as "My phone"

Ooh, The Asmo can do that! It's not His phone - it's His digital sex aid oh wait! That is to say... You has no idea where it's been! Wait, NO!

...Ok, maybe just a little like that.

Yesterday, the 4TB hard disc crashed on my old iMac. Recovery and reformat didn't work so it is a goner. I just wonder whether it would make any sense to replace the old hard disc with an SSD, since it is a late 2009 27" iMac with an Intel i7 processor. I was however surprised that people try sell these iMacs on eBay at around $400-500.

2560 by 1440 pixels, could do better these days.
4TB SSDs are pricey. 1 or 2TB SSD plus other storage is better value.
I'd sell it and get something modern.

Thanks Pudding! You are right, it doesn't seem a good investment for a 15 years old machine. I better sell it.

My wife had been using it for the last 10 years. I gave it to her, because I switched back to Windows. Two years ago she bought a MacBook Pro with the Apple M1 chip; set it up but then never used it because she loved the 27" screen of my iMac. Now she can't remember the password of the MacBook, so I'll have to help her to reset the password, which seems to be quite easy.

No need to buy new hardware now, although Microsoft keeps telling me to buy a new PC, because my perfectly functioning laptop doesn't support Windows 11.

Wait, it does not support Win11?! Formerly-mine ancient MSI GE60 my stepdad uses runs it just fine. What sort of planned obsolescence scammery is this?! :thoughtful:

...Well, I suppose the GE60 is a bit newer than fifteen years, but still, it does not take that much more to run Win 11 than, say, Win8 or 10.

It is easy to bypass the Microsoft hardware requirements when upgrading to Win 11 from Win 10 on an older computer by using Rufus. I followed that route 3 months ago and I am very happy with Win 11 and the way it is running on my desktop PC.

Actually, I'm not sure that I want to run Windows 11 on my laptop.

There are many Microsoft haters who swear by some of the Linux versions. They are all over YouTube.

Haters gonna hate. 'S hwat they do. :smilenod:

Personally, I think Win11 is a very competent operating system.

I agree. I have very few complaints, since the programs I use for sculptural work (mainly Rhino 3D version eight) work better than they did in Win10.
