magnetism is magic.

what magnets do is not possible by any ordinary level of common sense.

Magnets in one form or another power our refrigerators in an indirect but certain way.  Electric generation requires only three things.......A magnetic field, a conductor within the field, and relative motion between the field and the conductors. Strange but wonderful stuff.

BR one might wonder how many of the parts in those HD engines are listed in the dealer catalogue.  That begs the question; Is it really a Harley?

Parts more likely to be listed in the Vance and Hines catalogue not the Milwaukee one.   Don't know if those guys are still doing it, but almost everyone used to use Suzuki clutches.

good point.

even the old stuff that i run is subject to the same questions. i have stock cases and a stock gearbox, but my crank and pistons are hand-made billet pieces, rods are aftermarket steel, valves and springs are high-performance units from non-factory supliers, the entire primary drive is custom with a rubber belt, the wheels are suzuki, the controls are italian, ignition is old, but non-stock, carbs are japanese, and much of the rest is just handmade. for me, it's the reason the old stock 1965 triumph would go about 100 mph, and mine goes 135.

at least it does when it doesn't blow up.

but look at this 1955 thunderbird:

very specialized, but only 170 so far, i think. this guy is my target. he has the record at 139.226 on gasoline, with  a production frame.

i'm right behind him.

No one

Though this show has its extremely sporadic and severely isolated moments of humor, it ceased to be funny long, long ago.
