In Asmo's grey lump,
wrath and dark clouds gather force.

^  Sarah Palin is a lying wench. She cannot see Russia from her house in Anchorage. That might be a distance of something like 1000 Km.

Her home town of Wasilla isn't even on that map, which gives some idea of how good her imagination is.

This is a bit of a stretch but please bear with me . . .

The depiction on a map of a part of the Earth is roughly as you would see it from orbit, yes?

What orbits the Earth? Spacecraft, among other things. Tenuous, but an association. Just an excuse to post this image, which I found compelling. There's an article about it. Image itself is the link.

Fascinating.  The people who designed that stuff were doing well by anticipating, and building whatever they could, to minimize risks.

If you click on the image in the article it opens a bigger version on a new tab in your browser. Click on a location in that version to get a close-up of the tiles. The patterns made by the smoke/hot gasses are very striking I think.

All around the circumference there are holes, which I'm guessing are for maneuvering thrusters. Also four protrusions, which I assume are components of the mechanisms which kept the capsule attached to the rocket. They appear unharmed by the reentry, which is interesting.

Also, the fiery reentry is an association with the Grey Eminence's "Ring of Fire" so it's all good.
