Never forget, you're 40% Banana!

Tank previously scolded me for being rude to Egor but, seriously, some people are worthy of derision and Egor is one of them.  So, at the risk of Tank scolding me again, Egor was, is, and always shall be...an idiot.
But I don't think he is an idiot. He's left enough crumbs in his posts that you can find your way to his website associated with his writing and there are videos on there of him critiquing books. If you met him in the street, and didn't know he was like this online, you'd probably think he was a normal sort of bright bloke.

However...

I'm completely against this banning of Xians who have personality issues like Egor.
It's behaviour one can judge by, not intent and the result of the behaviour is the issue. If a person is excessively disruptive they need to change their ways or they get shown the door.

It only gives them ammunition to fire against atheists for being unable to cope with the arguments they bring.
A Pyrrhic victory for the person leaving that demonstrates their problems and is not an issue for us to worry about.

Egor's arguments were a joke and could be easily refuted.
Excellent! I like arguments that are easy to beat.

I spent four years as a game administrator, art director, and forum moderator for a (sadly) now defunct online RPG.  I had to deal with hundreds of people every day, ingame and out, and I only brought out the Ban stick for the absolute worst ones.

My $0.02
The ban hammer is actually only used very rarely. Even the likes of disengenuious members like Struggling Atheist (aka Lier for Jesus) have not been banned.  Egor has not been banned.

Egor is no idiot although some of his posts have been bizarre to say the least.

That's possible... until he opens his mouth anyway.  My judgement is based solely on his ridiculous posts which reveal just how illogical, irrational, arrogant, and self-deluded he is.  Based on that criteria, I stand by my assessment.  Come to think of it, all of those traits kinda make him the perfect candidate for Xianity.

That's just sad.   Sad

Oh, I get the motivation behind it.  I'm just wary of banning as a possible sign of weakness.  Our kind are firmly in the minority and need to present a demeanor of strength.  I may be overly sensitive about this however.

I can see that too.  As I said, I may just be overly sensitive on this point.

I haven't met a Xian argument yet that wasn't.   Cool

This is good.

That first part is arguable, the second, yeah, you're being charitable.   Smiley

I'm waiting for the movie of my life to be made.  It should cost about $7.23 and that includes the budget for special effects.

I didn't want to derail the other thread (apparently Egor got banned) so I'll ask here:

What the hell is wrong with that guy?

(Anyways I think he's hilarious. The way he honestly believes that his arguments for the existence of his particular version of god, who also happens to be his best buddy, are a guided smart missile that utterly destroy all and any non believer ideas makes for good comedy.)
