Yes, but there are literally legions of godless people who practically devote their lives to decimating religion. I'm confident that religion is on a serious downturn. In the meantime, there are virtually no people to point out the douchebaggery & hypocrisy of dogmatic atheists. How big would you say a legion is? A thousand? A million? 10 million? You mean like Christmas right? I'm sure if you guys had your way, this holiday would no longer be celebrated. Those religious zealots can't just do whatever they want! What's this "you guys" business? You're trying to paint every other atheist as militant, disrespectful, and mean, while you're a good atheist that protects the weak and defenseless theists, and it's just coming off silly because by and large HAF isn't what you'd call militant. The vast majority here are "live and let live" atheists, and the others aren't going around bullying anyone. Even our most vocal and strong-willed know how to treat other people with respect. Again, you need to get to know our community instead of dumping stereotypical preconceptions on us. I celebrate the crap out of Christmas, by the way. I give lavish and thoughtful gifts to everyone I know, my house is covered in lights and I listen to every Christmas song in the book. I also donate my time and money to help the homeless and I do all of this without indulging in the supernatural. Christmas isn't even really a religious holiday anymore. |
