Brain Awareness Week 2019
« on: February 14, 2019, 08:27:24 AM »
Brain Awareness Week is a global outreach program aiming to form a bridge of understanding between neuroscience and the lay public through lectures and activities.

Though it hasn't been fully confirmed yet, it seems I will be giving a lecture on memory along with one of my colleagues.

One on hand this is exciting as public dissemination of science is something that really interests me, but on the other my latent fear of public speaking has once again reared its ugly head.

I will be meeting with the professor who is responsible for organising this initiative in my city next week to talk about the lecture.

Who knows what the very near future will bring?

That's awesome! You might fear public speaking but I'm sure that you will do very well. Oh, of course, you'll agonize in the lead up to the event and compose another storyboard for your next short film, but you will also knock it out of the park when it's time to rumble.

Who knows what the very near future will bring?

Procrastination, abject terror and a loose bowel?

Well, my participation in the event has been confirmed, I and two others have been given a slot on Wednesday, March 13th at 1 o' clock to talk about Learning and Memory.

(It says that the three of us are PhD students but that isn't true, just Mirelle is. I've requested it be updated but so far nothing.  ::))
