I have a rotten tooth. The pain has been there for a week but it felt like pressure from another wisdom tooth coming in. This morning I finally shined a light in my mouth and there was a big Brown spot on one of my molars. No swelling or particular pain while chewing so far.

I couldn't get any pliers back there and still be able to see so I made an appointment with a dentist. First time in my life.
Ouch!

Lost a thirty year old ceramic cap, on a root drilled premolar stump, to a crunchy chocolate cornflake cake.the day before my last routine 6 monthly checkup. They smoothed and patched the stump for free. Well, did not charge sny extra on the £18 the visit cost anyway.

Ummmm.... you couldn't get pliers back there? Were you going to... *choke*.... remove your own tooth???
I am so glad you have made your first dental appointment. I know it can be scary, but you can do it. Maybe if you're brave, they'll give you a prize!  ;)

I'm not afraid. Just want it out. And I can't even be sure they'll do anything for me. They want $100 just to walk in the door. Then, we get to see how much I'll have to fork out. You never know, I might end up looking for some slimmer pliers anyway.

Get a pair of medium duty wiring pliers with 45 degree bent tips!

One warning, bad teeth can break up and then you will be in real trouble!

My sister-in-law asked me to check the six 4TB external hard discs of my dead brother for useful data, like insurance information, etc. What I found instead was 18TB of hardcore porn. One hard disc I took to the police, because it contained child pornography. I only played one video for just a few seconds and it made me feel sick. Hopefully they catch those bastards, who made these videos (most of them seem to originate from eastern Europe). My opinion about my brother has changed dramatically for the worse.
That must have been one hell of a shock!

Kidney stone still not out. Actually haven't been in too much pain, but we had to cancel our trip to see family in NY because I didn't want to get stuck down there if it did get worse. Though it turns out that may have been fortuitous.

Yesterday, Firechicklet (who's now ten months old) wasn't eating or drinking much and spit her milk up a couple of times, but otherwise seemed happy and energetic. Being a nice day out, we decided to take her to the nearby zoo to distract her for an hour or two. Worked well, she got sleepy, and we began the fifteen minute drive home. Right around minute 12, she had explosive diarrhea. Like EXPLOSIVE. She was literally sitting in a pool of her own crap in the car seat. We rushed home and spent the next couple of hours cleaning her off and getting her to sleep while also hosing off the infant seat cushion. Amazingly, none of it got onto the actual back seat of the car.
Imagine that had happened halfway between Boston and New York?
For good measure, she puked on me later that night. None of this grosses me out, and I now get to check off this parental milestone. Mostly sucks to see how miserable she's feeling.
Poor Firechicklet. Poor Firebird. I hope everyone is feeling at least a bit better now.

Two wisdom teeth are sheared off at the gum line. And the bastages have hooked roots so I'll have to set up an appointment with an oral surgeon to drill them out. I wonder if my right angle drill attachment is small enough to fit back there? Better than pliers....

OUCH!

The stump of my premolar that the cap broke off is only just enough above the gum line, now it is tidied up, for it to be left in. You have my sympathy.

:twitch:

IMO setting up an appointment with a good oral surgeon is the best thing to do. When I got four of mine removed there was hardly any pain, bleeding and no post-removal infection.

I tried setting up an appointment with a Dentist once. They never went to work that day.
