7/24 guessed on all of them.

Same, for the British one!

For the Canadian one, got 18/20 correct. Mixed up a couple dates, but remembered the actual events, which is typical of me.  :P

Hey what?
The Canadian quiz had 4287 questions, can someone with so little perseverance be accepted as a true Canadian?
How is such a one going to survive the long winters trapped in their cabin till the thaw frees them, with only seal oil for the lamp, seal flipper for the pie, seal fur blanket and seal companion for the bed?  The old ways pass away and no one listens to those who see we are slipping into something, I forgot what but be assured you won't like it.

38% Bitish and 70% Canadian. It helps that a lot of the Canadian questions are closely related to US history. Do I get bonus points for speaking French?  :D

Yes you do, considering I live 5 minutes away from the Quebec border, my father was born in Montreal, I took french in school, but I can barely speak a word of it.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

Thanks. I just nearly choked on my coffee as I read 'seal companion for the bed'.

Same.  I'll just say that I am most certainly not British, despite my love of fish and chips, Doctor Who, and Downton Abbey.

I love and know quite a bit about British culture. Obviously not as much as someone living there, but when it comes to cuisine, music, TV, comedy etc etc, I can probably hold my own. Clearly I'm hopeless when it comes to British government/fiscal etc details though.  :P

Sorry, 'that sounds like a challenge' in the sense that you want to see what I know about British pop culture, or a challenge in the sense that it's unfortunate I don't know much about the British government/fiscal policies etc? :)

I'd definitely really enjoy a thread about the former, if we were rambling about British TV, food, music, comedy, etc etc. That'd be fun. If you're up for it, I'll start a thread.

Yeah I was referring to the former, my apologies I should have been clearer. I would be up for it.

I have an American friend, Will, who is a self confessed Anglophile and he puts my knowledge of English history to shame. I can name the following monarchs and know something about them Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Victoria & Queen Elizabeth II. Oh and Charles I as he got his head cut off. But that's it. Will came over to stay and spent a week in London and his knowledge of English history was encyclopaedic. It was like having a walking Wikipedia with us! I was quite ashamed of myself. But our history teacher was a very left wing socialist so we learned about the Industrial Revolution etc. etc.

I know Henry II is Peter O'Toole.

Just be happy that I didn't get my impression of the culture from Dick Van Dyke as Bert the Chimney Sweep.
