"Dad, I really am an atheist. I promise"

About a year ago Susan (susangail) posted her heart-wrenching story of coming out as a teenage atheist with an evangelical father on my website ("Dad, I am an atheist") and it has since generated a lot of attention (over 38,000 page views) and very positive responses from readers. So I asked Susan to give me and my readers an update. Despite the struggles with mental illness and her parent's state of denial, she still remains a "happy" atheist. It's inspiring to read.
