Hi, I just joined up, I am an atheist who keeps getting told to " shut up about religion " need a place to come and vent off from time to time :D
Welcome to the forum, Hardvark! Want to vent? You've come to the right place -- there are many people who are in the same situation as you. :smilenod:
Were you always an atheist?
Welcome aboard!
Feel free to vent!
Where on this pale blue dot do you live?
Hi Hardvark! Thankfully there are lots of people here that will patiently listen to venting. Seriously, this place is so much cheaper than therapy. ;D
Welcome Hardvark :)
Helloooo Hardvark. Is that a combination between aardvark and Harvard?
Hello and welcome Hardervark.
I've always been amazed how the religious folks who have no issues at all preaching and proselytizing their religion, whether on missions to 3rd world countries, banging on doors or passing out their tracts and pamphlets outside sports events can be so put off when an atheist starts to discuss religion, faith and/or god.
Suddenly they get sensitive to opposing views, and want to know how you dare to say such things. Don't you know they will say, that you are upsetting people with such talk?
If you don't believe than please stay quiet...
Stay quiet...or leave.

Pretty much yes, I've never had much time for religion or the supernatural, Had some fun over the years laughing about belief systems, as I get older I feel the need to be a lot more vocal about my non belief in nonsense, but I get a lot of eye rolling and closing of ears by people who still want to believe in the 'good bits' of religion, as if spending a supposed eternity in the presence of a monster is a good bit.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome ;D

Hello Hardvark
Glad to have you aboard. If you are visiting Wales, is that from elsewhere in the UK? There are a lot of fundies in Wales.
Welcome Hardvark!

I am managing to steer clear of the fundies, I come to Wales quite a lot as I live about 25 miles from the welsh border, got some nice weather for a change as well. ;D

Hello and welcome to HAF,
Hardvark. There are many who view religion as a tiresome topic of conversation, but it is of course welcome here, along with just about any other topic you care to discuss. I'm glad you found this place, and I hope you enjoy your time reading and posting here.
:animwelcome:
We are quite near neighbours. I lived for many years in Herefordshire, very near the border; now I'm in Shropshire. I also like to spend time in Wales for the peace and quiet.

Tis indeed a small world. In which direction are you? I'm in South Wirral, although not a native of these parts, I'm really from the right side of the Pennines.
I'm in mid Cheshire, about half way between Chester and Manchester. :)

I was in Shropshire not long back at a place called Hawkstone follies for a day out, lovely part of the world Shropshire. :)
Just got back from Wales, called in at Holywell to get my wife some magical healing holy water lol.
The place was full of religious nonsense, but on the upside it only cost me £2.00 to get in, I will not be visiting again though.
Well everyone, the time has come for me to say goodbye to the forum, it's been great but I think I need to be elsewhere.
:)
