The political compass is an alternative to the traditional left to right political scale in that it differentiates between economic and social issues. If you take the test and post your results, I'll add your name to the HAF chart. I'm just curious to see what the political views of people on this forum are.

I get the feeling this isn't necessarily the best way of discovering one's political beliefs. Not only that, but labeling one's self tends to make one follow the expectations of being labeled as such. Just try to be fair, informed, and good. However that manifests is what you are.
I have a chart I did before, not the numbers, it looks like.

There are some serious hippies on here.
Not really worth doing this for me as I pick and mix so many things and regularly change my mind based on how things change. But I would probably wander about the bottom left quadrant.
I didn't find this graph very accurate.
Some of the option I didn't agree or disagree, I was in the middle.
but heres my results.

Haha. I actually thought the test was rigged. I don't even see how an atheist could get the score you got SSY. I know some straight up Christian Right Wing US republicans that would likely end up in the green quadrant...or close to it.
edit: I took it again entering all the answers I think that a Right Wing US Christian would, and I ended up almost exactly in the middle. I'm no goddamn hippie. I know because my hippie friends tell me so all the time. The test is garbage imo. There isn't even a "no opinion" option for the questions.

It might be...it tends to put people into the libertarian quadrant and the libertarians promote it as a good way to figure out your political views.
The questions on the test aren't anywhere near rationally worded. It's as if you agree you must either be a super fundie or posting from a hippie commune.

There are many better political quizzes on the Internet than the Political Compass. Like this one (http://politicalquiz.net/).
My results:
Conservative/Progressive score: 12
You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country.
Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 12
You're a Social Capitalist, you think that, left to its own, Capitalism leaves a lot of people behind. You think that Health Care should be free to all, that the minimum wage should be raised, and that the government should provide jobs to all that are capable of having them. You likely hated the Bush tax cuts, and believe that the middle class has gotten poorer, and the rich have gotten richer over the past several years. The far extreme of social capitalism is socialism.
Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 2
You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.
Pacifist/Militarist score: 2
You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the US spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems.
Economic Left/Right: -3.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.38

Conservative/Progressive score: 11
You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country.
Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 6
You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is.
Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 1

Quote from: "terranus"For some reason, PoliticalQuiz.net keeps freezing my browser. I switched over to Chrome, but then the results won't load at all. Dislike! Google probably got jealous and decided to not to tell you your results.
I do use IE9 now. Haven't had any other problems with it so far.
And
better give me my damn results, considering I use almost every other single service they offer - including one of their smart phones.
Really? Which smartphone did you use? My birthday is coming up, along with my Verizon contract renewal, and I was thinking about getting a smartphone. Probably an Android, as I have heard they are superior to iPhones.
I might even be able to get a phone on a different network.
Android is superior to Apple. We have the Flash player which allows us to browse any website just as well as your laptop can. And app developers don't have to pay Google. It's basically a developers phone in that we get all the latest apps and Android updates before anyone else does, because the Nexus One runs a stock version of the Android operating system without any 3rd party cell-carrier crap on it. Unfortunately though, I have T-Mobile. Good prices, terrible service. I used to have Verizon before I got this phone...they had decent phones and by far the best coverage...but they were just so damn pricey I finally told them to shove it. And then they tried to charge me twice for my contract cancellation fee.
If you don't mind putting up with their high prices and terrible customer service, then I say stick with Verizon and get one of their Android phones. They usually have the best selection of them. Although Sprint is about to take that from them (seeing as how they can't get the iPhone, Sprint has fully commited to Android).

https://www.isidewith.com/political-quiz
http://www.playbuzz.com/felixstablum10/the-definitive-political-orientation-test
To use the graph from the test in the OP, I'll say that I fell in the bottom left (or libertarian left). I fell somewhere among anarcho-socialism, libertarian socialism, and syndicalism. Although I agree more with syndicalism than the other two. But there are things that I feel more progressive on, such as the advancement and implementation of science and the development of the economy for EVERYONE, not just the filthy rich.
