I remember on several occasions finding his silly, hateful tripe where it had been strategically placed by helpful Christians. It always made me smile, but it's not hard to imagine that others may have found it troubling. Anyway, I expect that his little empire will continue, in some form.

ETA: I haven't been able to find much to confirm this, but it's on Twitter and Facebook.

I remember seeing some of his comics online, there are some amusing stuff that are way out there. Such as this one:

I used to find Chick tracts regularly when I rode the bus.  The ones on evolution, before he started getting information from Hovind, were hilarious.  I remember one tract where Chick demanded to know, if evolution was true, why couldn't a giraffe change into a dog?

Btw, Wikipedia is confirming his death on 10/23/16.

I wish I were surprised by the outpouring of love for the bigoted fabulist on that Facebook page.

They must have skipped "thou shalt not kill" while learning the Commandments. :la la la la:

It's actually "thou shalt not murder", by definition an illegal killing.  Killing approved by god is considered legal because god makes all the rules and god said "OK" to a lot of killing.  There are thousands of loopholes and exceptions.  I believe Jesus commented on things like that in a story about the Pharisees, but as usual Christ gets ignored by a lot by Xtians.

Still seems like rather arbitrary morals to me, when it's ok to kill other people as long as god said so.

And that's why we're atheists.

I there's one thing some Xtians are good at, it's cherry-picking.

Man, I remember reading his tracts a lot as a kid. Every one I could get my hands on. They would be at church on the back table and we could choose the ones we wanted to give out to our dearest heathen neighbors and friends. It was with morbid fascination that I would read some of them, wondering if stuff in there was true, because as a young girl, I figured if it was distributed by my church, it had to be sanctioned by God. Dang... I haven't thought about those stupid scary tracts in years.
I do wonder how much influence those little books actually had on me. I think I got some of my mental visuals of Satan and demons from those, as well as my fear and loathing of D&D and heavy metal music.
Good riddance Jack Chick.

But what's wrong with cherry-picking?   It's good, honest labor.

To be fair, if you're going to use the bible as a guide to life you have to cherry-pick one way or another.  It's too contradictory for anything else to work.

The Bible itself is a cherry-pick.  There were lots of writings that were rejected. There's nothing to say I can't make my own selections.
