Ceremonies generally bore me, I don't think I'll be able to watch more than an hour of this one - maybe just the highlights. ;)
I think pretty flashes of light on screen are better than nothing, not the kind that give people seizures, though.
Me neither, I don't root for any team and have no reason to want to watch sports on TV or live.

Pretty much my stance as well, xSP, I almost conidered emigrating about 6 months before the London shindig - it was dominating too much even then.

I feel sorry for the real athletes, I'm not athletic in body or mind, no interest except a sort of residual patriotism. But I respect those who feel the need to push their bodies - within a natural and legal framework - in competetion.

But, like Christmas, nothing against those who wish to get on with it in private, but fuck the ballyhoo, politics and commercialism!
Tomorrow is precious, don't ruin it by fouling up today.

Meh, I think it's a distraction, especially in the host. There's little panem so let there be plenty of circenses!

(I'm not usually this cynical...)

Icarus

I fear that we have some of that right here in the good old U S of A.

*Ahem*

Yes...well...

:shifty:

I just dropped everything to watch Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter, run the 100 meters.

Aaawwright Mags.  Bolt can run faster than anyone who is not Jamaican. Does that mean that  a Rostamon (or Rosta chick) has something extra going?  The marihuana maybe? If so I gott'a get me some of that stuff.

When you do, can you hook me up with your street pharmacist's beeper number? Do I use code 420? :shifty:

Luv ya too, Icarus:love:

I watched Bolt run the 200 meters today, again. He's amazing.  :tellmemore:

I probably have some type of "teenage crush" ...or something.  :notsure:
Maybe just "admiration."  :headscratch:
