You should see this now whenever you are in a thread and someone you block has posted something:
QuoteYou are ignoring this user. Show me the post.
I used a facility like that on another forum - then f found it was not worth looking at any threads the other was in at all, too much lost context made them confusing or I wanted to comment but knew I had to read the hidden stuff to be able to do so.
So I just totally ignored any thread the other commonly invaded.
That is exactly what I do, Dave. If there is a poster that I am finished with, I completely ignore all that they do.
OK. I will try this...this..."ignore them," theory. :levitate:

That has been my modus operandi as well. And I feel much better for it.

I could change my name to "Mr Member"...that's cool as well, maybe "Mr Member Grande'?
Anyway, uh that option...I think...that's...pretty common...knowledge... on forums like this...???
I don't currently use it, but anyway I understand Mags, heck I remember my first forum. Good luck and welcome to HAF :rawr:
I think it's also good to try to respect ignores as much as possible by only quoting the relevant portions of the user's posts, that way Mags won't see the complete post of a user she is trying to ignore.

I agree, good idea Davin.
We're (the staff) are looking at an upgrade to the forum to allow members to ignore threads. If Asmo gives his technical blessing it will be added in the near future.

The ignore function as it is, is inadequate. Hopefully very soon it'll be upgraded to something better. :smilenod:

Well it's actually very simple. Abortion is about personal choice, eugenics is the exact opposite.

To be honest with you, I didn't know the man in the video was, Quentin Crisp, or that the song had something to do with him. You learn something new everyday. :smilenod:
I just like the song and the lyrics:
Englishman in New York
By: Sting
I don't take coffee, I take tea, my dear
I like my toast done on one side
And you can hear it in my accent when I talk
I'm an Englishman in New York
See me walking down Fifth Avenue
A walking cane here at my side
I take it everywhere I walk
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
If "manners maketh man" as someone said
He's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Modesty, propriety can lead to notoriety
You could end up as the only one
Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society
At night a candle's brighter than the sun
Takes more than combat gear to make a man
Takes more than a license for a gun
Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can
A gentleman will walk but never run
If "manners maketh man" as someone said
He's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter what they say :dance1:
Just had to research that one. Yeah, the song came out in 1987 and Crisp died 1999. Though he had died before that.
He was the Boy George of his time, but much more interesting.
