Should we take Donald Trump seriously? It amazes me to think that a reality show star who has filed bankruptcy so many times could run for president but in America.... I think he could. And win. :sigh:

If Trump were to become President, I would move to Canada.  That's not even a joke, seriously, I will move to Canada.  I will strap moose horns to my head and start singing, "Ohhhh Canada!"

Seriously...he couldn't do any worse.  To me, he is business savvy and this country needs some business sense to help lift it out of a deepening hole.  It really doesn't matter that he's filed bankrupcy, what matters is whether he is a successful business man and has some different knowledge to bring.  It's my feeling that some may be worse than others, but in the great scheme of things, the trend, if we stay with the custom of voting in career politicians, will only show a downward spiral.  Any change, to me, is a good change.  Taxes will go up and the government will always take more than we wish.

I'm all for Trump, should he choose to run.  I'd rather watch his no-nonsence manner of work ethic than our current "leader" any day.

I feel the same way about a certain alaskan diva.

As for Trump - I would never ever vote for that weazel.

I also saw that Rozanne is running for President. Go figure.

Who's Donald Trump again? Isn't he some rich famous actor guy?

It is my opinion that this Alaskan Diva is quite good looking.  This is enough for me to vote for her.
This goes along with my opinion/thinking that there's not many individuals that can do any worse than the drivel we have to choose from already.
I may pay more attention to politics given a better something to look at.

Going in and out of bankruptcy over and over again is business savvy?

He's not pushing a hot dog cart around NYC, is he?

Recusant

i think Trump's main talent is for self-promotion.  You don't hear that much from genuinely talented people in business because they're too busy making money.  Trump is a loud-mouthed schmuck, but the people of the US have always had a soft spot for that type.

This is probably true.  More so, though, of the career politician(s).

Is Obama? Is Bush?

Trump has been very, very rich but he ha also been very, very poor ($900 million in debt). It's not like he worked his way up from scratch or anything either. His dad only had a net-worth of - what - $300 million?

It's okay.  He's different.  He has a business mind that is geared towards making profit...He can't make it any worse than the trend we have been seeing in our leadership now.

Ahem... that you saw in Bush.  :)

We're out of the recession now that Bush and the Republicans put us in.

Republican/Democrat...either way, they are politicians.  Trained liars.  Some are just better at it.

I'd disagree with this statement. The recession was longer in coming than the Bush administration, and is much more complicated than people make it out to be. Many more factors probably enter into this than one administration of one branch of our government, but most people don't want to acknowledge that, because it takes away their evil enemy. I'm surprised you oversimplified it like this. Was Bush a factor? Of course. And he made it worse, I agree. But he was not even remotely the only factor responsible.
