You sound more than a little frustrated.
I try to laugh at religion, but sometimes that's impossible.
It probably will help talking to people who agree with you.
As you have found, trying to get through to believers is frustrating.

One particular piece of stupidity is the historical attitude of the Catholic church to Jews.
The Jews are condemned for killing Jesus, but some how it doesn't matter that he and his followers were Jews.
Oh and we'll conveniently forget the Roman involvement.
