Quote from: billy rubin on April 06, 2024, 03:05:11 PMsome people like their jobs. some people hate their jobs. i was reading the news and got distracted by some clickbait

which was a success for the clickbait

and then it occurred to me that the worst job i coul dimagine having right now would be having to write things like this in order to make a living

QuoteCaught off guard

One of the teachers, Miss Clara, quickly entered the principal's office and closed the door behind her. "Shit, Eric! What was that? Who is that girl?" she whispered, completely caught off guard by what had just happened. "That's what I'm going to find out now, he muttered as he looked through one of his drawers.

The unexpected appearance of the mysterious girl has clearly left Miss Clara and Eric, the principal, bewildered. Their hushed conversation and the search for answers suggest that something intriguing or perhaps even concerning has just occurred. The unfolding story is sure to reveal more about the girl's identity and the secrets that may lie ahead

i would strangle innocent passersby before i would succeed in writing very much like this.

what would you hate to do for a living?

 I suppose we may get to thank AI at some point in the future.

Here is a video about the Panama Canal. The canal has some enormous political influence without meaning to do so.  Less and less ability to accommodate cargo ships influences the inflation cycle. We complain about inflation and blame our politicians for our plight.

The real causation is diminished rainfall. Our less informed citizens, which is the vast majority of us, choose to lay the blame on the nations leaders when no other explanation fits into their heads.

Geez, maybe I should reconsider my cheer, there's is so much woe going on...
Na, the woe of others only adds piquance to my cheer.

Back in December I got a thing in the letterbox, fabulous fabulous fibre to your home now available.
Stick with it a year and there's no installation cost.
I decided to embrace the fabulous, The Internet said it'd take about two weeks.
I told my old internet people I wouldn't be requiring their service past December 31.
The date for the fabulous installation was set, Monday the 15ish of January.
Four weeks instead of two, that's OK, I'll cope with mobile data.
It's a work day, I get daughter (with baby) to attend.
"They couldn't do it today" she told me, big job, they'd have to requisition a shovel or something.
They didn't turn up for the next appointment mid February.
Next appointment mid March they installed a modem and an exterior box but holes would have to be dug and subterranean made to go aerial.

Today the subterranean was made to go aerial for a hundred metres and I have my fabulous fabulous fibre connection.  :)

We got a pic with a colander in 2017, but it's enough out of focus so as to be useless to post.
