To kickstart this thread, one of my favorites is "Headlong" by Queen:
To be honest, whereas I have a pretty strong opinion over pretty much every decade surrounding the 90s, the music from the 90s was so forgettable to me that I honestly can hardly think of any to even post here... because very little really pops out to begin with.
One that does pop out to me is Walkin' On the Sun by Smash Mouth. I don't really like Smash Mouth, most of their popular songs are really annoying... But this song and another called 'Then The Morning Comes' I actually like. There is a little bit of 60s psychedelic influence there. A shame that Smash Mouth is known for annoying nonsense like "All Star" instead of these two songs. (All Star is actually what comes to my mind when I think of 90s music, and makes me want to forget it more than I already have lol)
I don't have many fond memories of the 90's music.
The one is one of the more decent songs, but I can't really say that I truly love it.
I don't have a favourite 90's song in particular, but was getting into the whole teenage angst thing in the very late 90's and early 2000's. Grunge and Nu Rock were my thing.
I'm sorry, I just can't get over it. The lead singer is good enough to make music for you to listen to, but not good enough to be a citizen or vote?
QuoteFreddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara on Thursday September 5th 1946 on the small spice island of Zanzibar. His parents, Bomi and Jer Bulsara, were both Parsee (Persian). His father, Bomi, was a civil servant, working as a High Court cashier for the British Government.
I can't detach your politics from you as a person. And it doesn't make sense to me

Yeah, I agree that there aren't really that many memorable songs from the '90s, although there are a few good songs from the '90s that I would like to mention here. But, all and all, the '80s & '70s had better music, in my opinion.

It doesn't matter if you don't have anything against Asians.
It also doesn't matter that you aren't homophobic.
Neither of these groups of people would be allowed to be a legal citizen of your ideal country, according to Point #4 of "25 POINTS OF AMERICAN NATIONAL SOCIALISM".
So I'm to understand that non-whites and homosexuals are valuable only insofar as they provide some sort of benefit to you, some pleasure, some skill. Apart from what they can do for your people, they are completely dispensable.
Did I get it right?

What sort of inadequacies and debilitating self esteem issues would cause someone to think like that?

No, you are an impure racist as you hate all races equally. Thus you are, in fact, a speciesist. And as that is an equal opportunities 'ism, including yourself, it's perfectly acceptable.

There are so many better rock songs of that era. Change by Blind Melon for a loiser sound or Forty Six & 2 by Tool if you want depth and composition. In fact, either album those songs were released on is fantastic from start to finish. Alice in Chains prouted one of the greatest acoustic albums ever for MTV. Soundgarden was amazing in the 90s once Cris Cornel really found his voice and they lost their hair band sound. The album Dust, by the screaming trees is another great one that's often overlooked.
But yes, I can see in fifty years that Smells Like Teen Spirit will be the song in movies to represent the 90s. It's a shame though.
Natalie Merchant and Beth Orton were doing stuff.

Hmm. I was waiting to see if anyone would post something a bit more teen pop but no. It seems so far I am alone in this. While we were still in the mid to late '90s I was mostly listening to the likes of Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, N'Sync, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. I pestered my parents into buying me all the albums. :embarrassed:

Because it's a dark, embarrassing moment of my past. :P Seriously, my bedroom walls were covered in posters and clippings I got from teen magazines.
The only thing that doesn't make it even more embarrassing is that all my friends did the same. ;D
