Possibly one of the most beautiful pieces ever.  :cryandrun:

Icarus

Here is a group of young people who are accomplished musicians.  The soloist is world class.  Leroy Anderson, the composer, gave him something difficult to play. Enjoy if you can.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEuag5GRKzk&list=RD6FoDrDdR0Yg&index=3

A talented group of Danish musicians do an American western piece.  They do it well in their own special way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enuOArEfqGo

The genius Ennio Morricone wrote some very expressive music for movies. This is for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Relax your body as in meditation, close your eyes and listen quietly and take in these elegant sounds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1Ne7SXETk8

Harmonie, listen to the Ravel piece with the oboe passage.

Two superb artists giving equally valid emotional and expressive performances.

I have a dear friend in Lithuania. He is a young man who is an accomplished classical guitarist. In one of his visits to my home in the US he told me that the ambition of the classical guitarist is: "To make her believe that she is beautiful".  He used the feminine gender to describe the instrument.

Here is one of the presentations that illustrate that wish.  Tatyana herself is beautiful, well even sexy, but she does passionate justice to her guitar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01VjNfR-Dfs

Superb, Icarus. Hearing that compelled me to listen again to this powerful evocation of Spain: Falla's Cancion del fuego fatuo from El AMor Brujo, sung by Laura Vital.

The jaded among us may see this as Hokey.  Hokey or not..............this is the kind of thing that our world  so desperately needs.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdQpQgYHc4w

This is great stuff - nothing wrong with a bit of crowd-pleasing spectacle. Mahler and Berlioz were exponents of this kind of thing.
