Finally, North Dakota is saying what the dictionary and modern science have been saying for ages: a person is a human being.

What? I'm sorry but this is probably the single most random thread I've ever read on this forum. You can't assume we know what your talking about. A little reference and additional inforomantion would go a long way.

I'm with you Tanker, I have no idea what this post is supposed to mean.

A BILL for an Act to provide legislative intent as it relates to references to individual, person, or
human being

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
SECTION 1. References to individual, person, or human being - Legislative
intent. For purposes of interpretation of the constitution and laws of North Dakota, it is the
intent of the legislative assembly that an individual, a person, when the context indicates that a
reference to an individual is intended, or a human being includes any organism with the
genome of homo sapiens.

SECTION 2. STATE TO DEFEND CHALLENGE. The legislative assembly, by
concurrent resolution, may appoint one or more of its members, as a matter of right and in the
legislative member's official capacity, to intervene to defend this Act in any case in which this
Act's constitutionality is challenged.

The title stands for "North Dakota's HB 1572 for the win!", the OP is referring to the North Dakota "Personhood Bill" which is a piece of anti-abortion legislation which attempts to define a "person" as anything with the relevant genome, effectively making a homo sapien at all stages of development a full person under the law, thus criminalizing all forms of abortion.

Last month it was passed in the North Dakota house of representatives, and is now scheduled to be reviewed by the North Dakota Senate.

BTW, when's the vote scheduled. I heard it was supposed to be this week.

No actual date for the review has been set to my knowledge, but it was thought that it would take place last week -- I have heard nothing about it, however, so I am fairly confident that it has yet to take place.

I know it hasn't passed yet because I've been tracking it here:

If this bill were to be passed, would that mean that corporations would no longer have standing as persons under North Dakota law?

If this passes, are they going to count the unborn as part of their population?   :hmm:

Nulono

Depends. Do non-citizens count?
