Wow I had my Parking for Mexicans sign and I forgot this thread existed. Gonna fix that...
EDIT: Never mind. It's not that important.
My favorite sign:

Just BTW: it seems that it was once pink for boys and blue for girls.
Pink was a sort of "reduced" scarlet, the colour of many military uniforms, the colour of blood, a bit aggressive. Blue was a cool, calm natural colour suitable for girls.

I think you can even substitute 25% or more letters with sring letters or random symbols and it remains readable. Edward de Bono played a bit with this sort of thing. Of course, this is demonstrated when I do not carefully edit my posts!
I also noticed the "misspelt" second word.
So what was really that way? Hmm...
Whose dictionary are we using to call foul on the spelling of the second word?... Sim-u-la-tion:noun 1. the act or process of simulating (sp)..... 2: an imitation. 3: the assumption of a false appearance.
My spelling checker thingy is OK with the poster's spelling of simulation. .....................Have I lost it here? Quite possible of course.. Help please.
 It must be because I have a dirty mind. The spelling is correct, I just imagined another letter in the word, making it another word entirely.

I echo Silver's comment - "S
timulation" is visually close and enhances the "mistake"!
But how do we know if it's stimulation or simulation? These are important questions.

CILT is an acronym for "
Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (http://ciltuk.org.uk/AboutUs/ProfessionalSectorsForums/Forums/Simulation.aspx)". A professional group concerned with the promotion of
simulation and modelling as a powerful means in the analyses and optimisation of transport and logistics processes.
You folks just have some dirty minds 8)
Bruno is a party pooper with his sterile explanation of the acronym:CILT. The notice would have gotten way better attendance had it actually read: "Clit Stimulation". :secrets1:
Some words though, end up getting special consideration when reading. Words that differentiate by mixing up the internal letters like for could and cloud do make things weird if put contextually wrong into sentences, "I cloud see the could." At least for me. Context helps speed up the reading.
It's like how double words can be more easily missed when when there are no rules for double words but double words are easier to spot with words that that have grammatical rules for allowing doubles.
Accomplished readers do not read words. They read thoughts with great rapidity. It is much too easy to use our word/thought cerebral mechanism to miss the actual intent of the written words. Contextual position of the word is the key of course. The most recent sign had no context other than that which it was announcing. Not the way our mind works unless we were actually looking for the CILT meeting place.

I think they meant 'God is now here'. :snicker: I read it as 'God is nowhere' the first time and thought, wait, that doesn't make sense...

Ah, but . . .
"God is everwhere" is a general statement of doctrine.
"God is now here" is a marketting message for a specific location.

You reckon? Perhaps they have a good market!
Heh.
I wonder what they could have meant. It looks like the there are Asian alphabet letters on the paper sign, but I'm not sure, the image's resolution is low.
In Brazilian Portuguese, 'one with horns' is used to describe a victim of infidelity, so my first thought would be to think they offer therapy sessions...a little out of context but whatever.
But when thinking in English it seems like they could have masseuses who rub erogenous zones or something. :notsure:

As my friend from Peru used to say (probably bad spelling on my part), "Il corñuto non castrato!"
Here in the US, massage parlors are expected by everybody to be dens of iniquity.

"She put the horns on him" or "She made a goat of him" is, I think, not an unusual way, in catholic countries, of saying "his wife is unfaithful" . Msy look up the reason for this, hesrd it a long time ago but never checked its origin (if known). Interesting considering the diabolical imagery linked with goats.
But I too pondered on just which word they cocked up.
Dave, words like "cocked up" may be an ordinary Brit expression but for dirty minded Americans it can mean that one has an erection.
One of my favourite English words is cockpit. I wonder why.

Yup. A milder form of f****d up.
That's so funny, because I had a supervisor who hailed originally from England, and he used "cock up" all the time when something went sideways. Nobody batted an eye, much to my amazement.

Nope, just can't make up my mind that you are right and I am just hitting my intense dislike of those who do not consider others in that way. Like watching a young man throw his drink can on the pavement four feet from a recycling bin.
An imaginative and appropriate sign that will probably do no good to deter the scummy slobs who litter. I like it anyway.
