Title: Lost In Space (New Netflix Series)
Post by: xSilverPhinx on April 14, 2018, 04:06:34 PM
This looks exciting:

I used to watch some of the old VHS episodes my mother would record and hoard when I was growing up and the fact that most of them were in black-and-white didn't phase me. The effects would be really cheesy today but the adventures the Robinson family went through while they were lost in space was what kept me popping in the next VHS tape after another, and nurtured dreams of becoming an astronaut myself one day (which obviously didn't work out :(  Oh well.).

They seem to have changed some things with this new series, namely switched two male characters for female ones. Based on the trailer it seems the robot is something Will Robinson (the boy) found instead of built himself, as well.

I may have to watch this before 'Altered Carbon'. Eventually. Someday. :sad sigh:

I'm not watching it if doesn't have Doctor Smith.
There was the 1998 film.

Doctor Smith is one of my favourite characters, I think the actor playing him did a great job at being the bad guy tagging along.

I think he's one of the characters they replaced.

The 1998 film was awful.

As an adult I can now say it was, but since I watched it as a young kid I loved it. :P

I've watched the first 4 episodes so far.  I think the new Dr Smith is good.  I haven't entirely made up my mind about a number of things about the series, but at least the production values are high.  so far so good!

I watched the first episode, I like it. I liked the original series too. But I also liked the movie, so you might not trust what I like.

I liked all of them to a greater or lesser extent, and the Star Trek version called Voyager.

Lost in Space was an original idea by Gene Roddenberry that Irwin Allen sole when Roddenberry pitched it to him.
