The ATM at the branch I work at has been down for two days so people are coming in mad about that and I just had some douchebag start screaming at me because I had the audacity to ask for ID for a withdraw. I usually pride myself on having a thick skin when it comes to that but I just can't do that today.

Aren't there laws against that sort of thing in the US? :notsure: Around here if you treat an employee like that you can get fined and up to a couple of years in prison, as far as I know. That jerk definitely deserves a big fat fine to make his wallet a little thinner.

That sounds like the best law ever and in the US, where it's the land of the customer is always right, it would never happen. I am thankful that my manager had my back because he stood up for me and when the idiot left he called him a dickhead. Looking back on it, it definitely isn't the end of the world. Douchebags gonna douchebag ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If someone ponied up some money for me at the bank without asking for ID, I'd have them sacked. I always thank the person for asking to see my ID when I make a credit card purchase. Having had people burn through my credit when I was close to losing everything when unemployed in the earl '90s, I'm a bit sensitive about credit card fraud.  >:(

I occasionally get asked for ID when making purchases on my card. The problem is, my personal card doesn't have my name on it. It has my company name and there are still cashiers who insist on seeing ID. More than once I've had to educate a cashier on the terms of their merchant agreement with Visa. If the card is signed they may not refuse a sale because the customer doesn't have identification.

People are supposed to ask for ID when customers make a purchase with a credit or debit card, but hardly anyone does. Only one store I shop at consistently asks for some form of valid identification to be presented.

Have a spoonful of mustard. It'll help.

That's new.  :chin: I'll try it!

Make sure it's that hot Chinese mustard. You'll completely forget that headache, if you take a spoonful of that;D

Went to dermatologist today. Routine checkup. Had a little skin tag on my arm and a few benign little bumps on my nearly  bald head.

ARNP did the surgery to remove the little skin tag. She would not use the standard liquid nitrogen to remove the little bumps on my noggin.........I asked, why not?  She said that insurance will not allow us to do more than one procedure at a time.  I muttered the words "bullshit"

I have since learned that the insurance companies follow the Medicare rules if they are advantageous to the company.  It goes like this..............The first procedure will be paid almost fully for the service, If a second procedure is done during the same physician visit it will pay only 50% of the billed amount.  If a third procedure is done at the same time then it will pay only 25% of the billed amount.

The Dermatologist, ophthalmologist, urologist or whomever is a specialist have different rules for their own compensation.  All in accordance with the health insurance companies blessing, I have to pony up $50 copay for any or all visits to the specialist.

If I want the little benign bumps removed from my noggin, then I must book another appointment and pay the 50 dollar "entrance fee"  and the specialist gets paid by the insurance company as if it was an original visit wherein they have the whole billed cost reimbursed.

That is a sleazy way to do business and I AM MORE THAN merely grumpy to learn how the scam works. .... Maybe Bruce will tell me whether I have the correct information about the sliding scale compensation.. I want to be wrong so that I will not have so much of a hard on for health care providers.

Do I feel that adventurous? No, I don't think so! ;D

That's pretty ate up, but I can sort of see the point. The doctor has already laid eyes on one, taken vital signs, etc. Seems like he's still making money when the extra procedure only takes a few more minutes, at that point. Having to return later and ponying up another copay and spending the extra time just so that the medical organization can make more money is what is driving the cost of medicine so high.

I liken it to when I used to work as a mechanic. If a car came in with high miles on it, I would recommend a timing chain if the customer has never had it done. Since I have most of the parts off by the time I have the water pump removed, it's easy to go the rest of the way. I only charged timing chain replacement labor, and didn't add that labor to the water pump replacement labor. To me, that would have been unconscionable, as would not saying anything and having the customer incur the timing chain replacement labor later. I had a lot of people who would only come to me for their repairs because of this sort of thing.

These "sneak" charges are getting in everywhere. I suppose that everything has to be paid for but . . .

Reactivated an old online shopping account. I noticed that the card quoted was out of date, so cancelled that and added new card (same type) details.

Final checkout bill showed that I had been charged £5 for a "new card check"!  First time - would go elsewhere for grocery delivery but chances are the habit has spread.

Fernanda, don't listen to all this stuff about mustard.  You need a large hot whisky and lemon.
