I'll have to work on that. Darktable has an angle function but it doesn't work well at all. The second photo is actually a creek mouth which adds a bit of difficulty in balancing the edges of the land with the height of the trees on one side and the trees on cliffs on the other.

On my D600 one can activate a grid in the viewfinder. It helps to get perfect verticals and horizontals. Check to see whether you can activate a grid in your viewfinder.

The reversing ring I got today made me think of Dave.

That's very sharp. I often think of Dave when photographic matters are discussed.

Can't make up my mind is the pubic hair adds or detracts from the photo?

 I wonder where JJ wore that star. Perhaps it was an achievement award.

When it's auctioned away for an unholy sum of money, I suspect it will be precisely due to the social commentary of that pubic hair.

[passionate "art-knower" impersonation]You see, it's all about how modern society is oversexualised to the point where in order to amount to something, you have to sleep with people and like, you know... Modesty is dead, and with the fight for the Socialist Utopia being upon us, and the star being the symbol of the Red Army, its cultural relevance makes it a priceless work of art indeed... [/blather on, all "knowing" shit about art]

It's a dog hair... at least that's what I'm telling myself... because it's not my star!

Ha! I was going to mention that there's a political statement in there if you look hard enough. Most people don't associate the gold star with the soviets these days though but I found it amusing.

Just to be Clear, I was not making a political statement of any kind. Rather, I was impersonating Adam Savage impersonating an art connoisseur in some Mythbuster episode from the depth of my selectively-photographic memory.  ;D
