Lovely photo.  I also prefer the original, but there are points in favour of both.

Ye though my taste often lacks the refinement to appreciate b&w pics.
I think it's the pictures on the wall, b&w gives the scene a retro feel but it's not working as well on the pic's on the wall.

Lovely, especially #2.  To my taste, that's filled with contrasting elements which make it really interesting.

Ditto with #2. And as the comment was made earlier on a different photo, it makes me want to be there. I'd like to see that scene live.

I like number two, not sure I'd want to be there for long though, looks kinda bleak.

Thanks for the feedback. :) I remember that day well. It was a few degrees above freezing, the snow had melted just a bit (hence the wet roads) and I was walking past the army barracks (the building on the left). It had been overcast and dull most of the day, and all of a sudden, the sun broke out of nowhere and even the puddles were too blinding to look into. I love days like that in the winter.  ;D

It looks like the sun is spilling down into the street, I love that.

Got my first hummingbird of the year, right on my backyard deck. No matter how many times I see them, they always amaze me.

Beautiful shots!  I esp. love the first one but the second makes me laugh -- the bird looks like it's giving semaphor signals.

I like taking pictures of my instruments, because to be honest there just isn't enough woodwind photography out there. At least not IMO. (there can never be enough  ;)) Pictures of them together are incredibly hard to find, so I decided to take a couple myself.
