Ali

My name is Ali, and I have been an atheist for about 13 years now.  LOL, I love the way that sounds like some sort of A/A introduction.  Anyway, I am 31 years old, and I am married to a fellow atheist.  We have a 3 year old son that we are trying to raise as objectively as possible.  I come from a conservative Christian family, and my hubby comes from a conservative Jewish family, so it is pretty safe to say that despite our best efforts, er still have religion up to our ears.  I am looking forward to getting to know my fellow "heathens."  *wink*

Hi Ali

Good to see you and your hubby leave behind not only one but two institutionalised superstitions and then pass your rationalism onto your kids!!!

Thanks for making the effort to sign up and join in.

Welcome to HAF.

Hello and welcome to HAF, Ali. I think that it's good that your son will, through your extended family, have some experience of religion. A series of inoculations, as it were.

I hope you enjoy your time reading and posting here.

Greetings, Ali!  it's good to know that your son won't have to escape from all the bilge that troubled his parents!  You're in a good place here.

I think it's best to present both sides of the argument to the child and let him decide on his own.
