In last night's debate, John King asked him about it.  Instead of actually answering the question, he said he was tired of the media digging this kind of stuff up on Republican candidates to help President Obama.  In other words, it's the media's fault he wanted an open marriage.  The media wanted to keep him down.

Here's the thing.  I totally agree that I could give two shits about politicians' personal lives.  I think it's rather embarassing that as a country we get so hung up on "sex scandals" - it makes us look like a bunch of children.  Ooooooh, adults sometimes have complicated sex lives....I never would have guessed that!

BUT - I have to say that in the case where someone is preaching about the sanctity of marriage out of the right side of his mouth, and using that as an excuse to deny my fellow citizens equal rights, and then divorcing multiple wives and asking for open marriages out of the left side of his mouth, he deserves to get called on that bs.  It's not even about his sex life so much as it is about his hypocrisy.  If he's going to pretend that he has a right to enforce his "values" on other people, then the very least he can do is live up to those same values.
