Starbucks
« on: October 07, 2017, 03:49:54 PM »
As we all know once Halloween ends, the Christmas season arrives (according to major corporations that is!)

Once the Christmas (not holiday season..sorry secularists!) season starts Starbucks will of course be putting slogans on it's cups.

I was angered and appalled last year or so  when Starucks did not include "merry christmas" on their cups.

I just felt it really disregarded the needs and hopes of Christians everywhere, who perhaps after a long day at the office enjoy seeing someone wish them "merry christmas" even if that someone is just a cup.

Any word or idea on what starbucks or other coffee dispensaries will place on their cups?

I don't buy coffee, it seems an unnecessary extravagance to me.
I prefer tea and I've got a Thermos.
When did nuns become so profligate?

Oo! Profligate nuns!

Oh, just looked "profligate" up, it was "flagellate" I mistook it for...  Sorry.

:notsure: I was thinking seriously about what you wrote there. I just think that it's truly horrible that a coffee shop did not put such a slogan on their cups. Possibly the only thing worse than that would be to lose one's keys or miss the bus or...

The horror of such thoughts has become too much to bear. I must now refrain from thinking them, as they cause me such distress.

Aggie, Aggie - are you praising the commercialisation of what some consider a holy time. Others, of course, just consider it a waste of time and money - or enjoy the excuse for a few extra drinks and some extra food. If they can afford it. Better to give the inflated price of that coffee to a worthy cause.

Father Bruno with all due respect that was very cruel and unnecessary.

"fuck" is a horrible word and I don't allow it spoken in my classroom or within my hearing.

I don't get why you enjoy being so wicked, but some people are just like that!

From memory ( :) ) I think fucking was quite nice myself.

But then, unless you were a bit naughty when younger, you would not know why would you?

Listen Snowflake. I responded to your introductory post and described how I was abused by the nuns at the catholic school I was forced to attend, and you said fucking nothing,...in fact out of all the ridiculous posts and threads you've started this is the first time you've responded directly to me and it's because of a ridiculous coffee cup.

You're not a nun, probably not even catholic, and you certainly aren't a teacher.

Not going to apologize for the coffee cup because it's fucking hilarious, and anyway I signed it "Love Fr. Bruno", and even put a cute little smiley face on the bottom.

This is not your classroom, SisterAgatha (if you are indeed a teacher...if) and I doubt it's as annoying as being told by that you are going to a place of eternal pain and despair.

For fuck's, Pete's, Christ's, heaven's...whatever...fuck's sake! This place is a safe haven for many here to escape the religious insanity and stupidity that the real world is so full of, and now we have a self-proclaimed 'nun' bringing all that here as well!

I ask again, what are you doing here? Do you hope to convert a few 'lost' souls? Have you ever truly stopped to ponder why so many atheists are angry and lash out at people such as yourself? You just have no clue, do you?
