Title: Net neutrality is no more

QuoteNetflix, Google and others voice frustration with net neutrality vote
Members of Congress have said they'll take the decision to court.

Today, with a three to two vote, the FCC voted to repeal net neutrality protections put in place in 2015. While Commissioners Clyburn and Rosenworcel made it very clear how much they disagreed with the move in their dissents, others are also voicing their concerns over the decision.

Netflix tweeted, "We're disappointed in the decision to gut #NetNeutrality protections that ushered in an unprecedented era of innovation, creativity & civic engagement. This is the beginning of a longer legal battle. Netflix stands w/ innovators, large & small, to oppose this misguided FCC order." While Google released a statement saying it was still committed to promoting net neutrality.

Now the ability of the Internet community, users and the likes of Google, Netflix, etc, enmasse, to influence national policy will be tested. If those predicting doom and censorship and commercial chaos are right then the next year could be interesting - in that Chinese curse way.

Yep, greedy pieces of shit.

The FCC is not supposed to make frivolous rule changes, and that's what this is, so hopefully that will be ruled out in the courts. If the judge is good, they might put in a stay on the repeal until the court case is resolved.

It's not over, and it can be changed later, but until something else happens, it's going to slowly get shittier and shittier. Now we need to get people in office that will help with restoring NN, and remove the representatives that are selling our country out.
