Title: HAF Photo Challenge: A Different Perspective
Post by: Recusant on November 28, 2017, 04:17:25 PM
Yay! After a prompt response from xSilverPhinx and hermes2015 we have a theme for the new photo challenge: "A Different Perspective."

Up to four photos will be accepted from each member, and you have until the middle of the month of December (say, December 17th) to submit them. Please send them to me via PM or via the email address in my profile: recusantathaf |at| gmail.com.

A theme as wide open to interpretation as this should elicit some good responses. It can be interpreted literally or figuratively.

I've got a couple pictures ready to submit, but still working on some more. I had an idea for one, but the results were lousy to say the least so it's back to the drawing board, but I'm having fun with this challenge.

I'm glad to hear that you are having fun; I guess that's the main reason we have these challenges. This time I've had to drag myself out of the doldrums to get started because of severe pain in an arthritic left hip. With new medication I feel so much better that I've managed to get some entries together and have also enjoyed it.

Ye, it's a bit like motion sickness, Escher is fine.
Flickering light I think maybe???  triggers epileptic fits, or not.
I look away before things go awry.

I've had migraine, I think, and I think that might be relevant.

There should be some interesting perspective possibilities along the supermarket aisles.

I just seem to have lost the ability to observe - I have to make it a task on its own. If I go to town all thoughts of shopping, even my beloved book shop, have to be expunged. I find it very hard to concentrate. Researching, looking for a solution to abptoblem... things like that still come naturally, hold my concentration. Technical photography is a favourite. But in public places my attention is 99% on the people round me and I cannot switch it off.

Will try harder, but I need something different, that the chances of another finding is slim. I was never just a snapper.

I can empathize with what you are saying. I am also usually not a snapper. The downside is that I over-think and over-plan everything, which is probably quite clear when you look at my photos.

I am not even drunk yet and I do not see any dinosaurs.  What I see is two people with a crosscut saw who has probably gotten all sweaty and have almost parted the log.  The one on the right side is about to be killed by one of those ice spears that we saw in the movie Frozen.......hold on I will run to the booze locker to get more sauce so that I can see the dinos.

I can see the dinos if I move to the right or the left of the picture.  I will blame my absence of instant recognition on my computer screen which is not a marvel of fidelity.

My imagination must have gone to hell along with my soul. Now that you have fixed the image, of course I can see the dinosaurs. That drawing is cute and perhaps instructional but I prefer Eschers work if I am to guess about the meaning of the content.

Yes, concerning, Recusant's posting frequency seems to have dropped off over the last year - mainly only the photo comp and his favourite hominid discoveries. And less of those.

Hopefully he's just taking some time off and nothing bad has happened.

Maybe he has no internet connection for some reason? Perhaps he went on some wild adventure in the middle of an African desert looking for ancient hominid skeletons and vowed not to come back to civilization until he found something.   :smokin cool:

He once mentioned that he has a stupidphone so maybe he's travelling somewhere where he doesn't have access to a computer and so can't log into HAF?

Maybe he was abducted by aliens?

:sshocked:  Maybe he is an alien and decided to return to the mothership?
