I caught this story about the Bar-Tailed Godwit on NPR's All Things Considered on the commute home this evening.

In sum: This bird flies from the Yukon Basin in Alaska to New Zealand, a distance of 7,200 miles (11,587 km) over a period of nine days - wait for it - NON STOP!

Amazing.
