Congratulations to Lark for winning our latest photo challenge!  :brava:

Her chosen theme for the new edition is "A Piece of History." Per her post, anything historical can be the subject, including for instance buildings, monuments and statues, historical clothing, art, etc., etc.

Up to five photos will be accepted from each member, and you have until the about the middle of the month of April to submit them. Please send them to me, preferably via PM, or via the email address in my profile: recusantathaf |at| gmail.com.

A good theme, which will inspire some good photos no doubt!  8)

Does a pic of a history textbook count?  :shifty:

Yes. But now you have revealed your idea it would be considered 'bad form' to enter it. Sorry.

(I didn't seriously consider entering a pic of a history textbook, even if I still had such a book, heh. I just wanted to ask if it was a valid option. :P )

Thanks for the idea. I won before with a photo of some books on my shelf, so why not a second time?

Surely it should be a photo of an historic book rather than a book on history?

Yes, probably. It was just a dumb attempt at tongue-in-cheek humour.  :-X

Which, of course, should be treated with the most serious and deadpan manner of response. :devil2:

I do not understand this site so this reply may go anywhere but it is about Photo Challenge , A Piece of History.  ANYTHING is eligible if the sender thinks it is a good photo and applicable to the subject, whether mentioned  previously or not. Closing date  midnight  Sunday  April  15th.  I will ask recusant to write this properly and put it in the right place  but he is currenty unable to assist.  Cheers

Dave

Sorry, Lark, I tried to imply the this was mainly tongue in cheek banter.

I agree, anything historical should qualify, a statue unveiled yesterday, a picture of a newspaper headline announcing a world shaking event.

I started this post back in my personal history . . .

Just to remind you all that the closing date is now less than a fortnight away.  Looking forward to seeing LOTS of photos and LOTS   of history from all over the world.
