Whose the most ridiculous/wrong saint?

As I've said I'm having trouble with history but:-

Pope John Paul II
Beatified    1 May 2011
St. Peter's Square, Vatican City
by Pope Benedict XVI
Take my advice, don't listen to me.

I'm very happy to see you here again, Bad Penny II! Don't mind admitting that I was starting to become concerned for your well-being. While I'll forgo the use of a hug smiley, nor even a frolic, I hope you won't mind a :hey:.

I like what you've done with this thread and I'll nominate Mother Teresa.

Pope Alexander VI...

QuoteOn the evening of the last day of October, 1501, Cesare Borgia arranged a banquet in his chambers in the Vatican with "fifty honest prostitutes",[2] called courtesans, who danced after dinner with the attendants and others who were present, at first in their garments, then naked.[3] After dinner the candelabra with the burning candles were taken from the tables and placed on the floor, and chestnuts were strewn around, which the naked courtesans picked up, creeping on hands and knees between the chandeliers, while the Pope, Cesare, and his sister Lucretia looked on. Finally, prizes were announced for those who could perform the act most often with the courtesans, such as tunics of silk, shoes, barrets, and other things.

My favorite is Radagast, who had a strong affinity for, and relationship with wild animals, and who's greatest concern was with the flora and fauna of the world. He was wiser than most men in all things concerning herbs and beasts.
It is also said he spoke the many tongues of the birds, and that he was a "master of shapes and changes of hue".

I'm disappointed there's no new HAF nun.

When in doubt why not just ask "are you really, really really a nun?"
The "really really" bit is important as it removes the opportunity for weaselling.
Undisputedly a direct lie deserves time in the Asmo designed HAF oubliette Gnnnn.

There are nuns that are better humans by my definition than me.

Catholics run Phinx's hospital, other hospitals, schools, oldie homes, no casinos as far as I know, maybe bingo....

Fuck history, it's history and I find it increasingly difficult to recall.
I don't like the Catholic stance on fucking control, birth control, marriage control, death control, they are rather controlling.

I'm going to prey for a real HAF nun.

Pudding! Err...I mean Bad Penny II! :hey:

Is it too early to say  :welcomeback:? :notsure:

Yeah what's up with that? What was his miracle by the way? A ginormous hat balancing act?  :dominidomini:

Nah, maybe being able to stand up, at an advanced age, in a moving pope-mobile whilst waving with one hand.

Wonder if he could pat his own head whilst simultaneously rubbing his own belly as well?   :chin:

I'd vote for St. Agatha of Sicily, the 15 yr old who was martyred by having her breasts removed with pincers [? -- that must have taken a while, and been very clumsy] because she turned down the advances of a Roman prefect.  Apparently her wealthy, powerful family couldn't buy her out of that.   When she died some 5 yrs later (details are sketchy at best) she was made the saint of bell founders.  Because of the breast shape, which is no end of ick-type wrong.  She was later made the saint of other things, some of which made sense (breast cancer, wet nurses) and many of which did not (earthquakes, fire, bread).

I don't see the point of saints at all, they just seem a replacement for multiple gods of this and that.  If you're going to get rid of polytheism, why not go all the way with it?  Be a real revolutionary.

Ratzinger should be beatified as well, look at what he can pull off!
