Congratulations to Lark for winning our latest photo challenge! :brava:
Her chosen theme for the new edition is "A Piece of History." Per her post, anything historical can be the subject, including for instance buildings, monuments and statues, historical clothing, art, etc., etc.
Up to five photos will be accepted from each member, and you have until the about the middle of the month of April to submit them. Please send them to me, preferably via PM, or via the email address in my profile: recusantathaf |at| gmail.com.
A good theme, which will inspire some good photos no doubt! 8)

Does a pic of a history textbook count? :shifty:

Yes. But now you have revealed your idea it would be considered 'bad form' to enter it. Sorry.
Do we have any submission dates?

(I didn't
seriously consider entering a pic of a history textbook, even if I still had such a book, heh. I just wanted to ask if it was a valid option. :P )

Thanks for the idea. I won before with a photo of some books on my shelf, so why not a second time?
Surely it should be a photo of an historic book rather than a book on history?

Yes, probably. It was just a dumb attempt at tongue-in-cheek humour. :-X

Which, of course, should be treated with the most serious and deadpan manner of response. :devil2:
I do not understand this site so this reply may go anywhere but it is about Photo Challenge , A Piece of History. ANYTHING is eligible if the sender thinks it is a good photo and applicable to the subject, whether mentioned previously or not. Closing date midnight Sunday April 15th. I will ask recusant to write this properly and put it in the right place but he is currenty unable to assist. Cheers
Sorry, Lark, I tried to imply the this was mainly tongue in cheek banter.
I agree, anything historical should qualify, a statue unveiled yesterday, a picture of a newspaper headline announcing a world shaking event.
I started this post back in my personal history . . .

I guess I deserve that!

Just to remind you all that the closing date is now less than a fortnight away. Looking forward to seeing LOTS of photos and LOTS of history from all over the world.

Lief Lark, a f'rtnight thee sayeth, couldst thee prithee beest m're specific with an actual date?
I plan on posting warnings when we get nearer to a closing date. Right now, it's still a vague "mid-month."
I'm really rattling my brain to come up with some ideas for this Challenge. It's a good theme, it's just the city I live in isn't ancient enough to give off that historic vibe.

Not a deadline so much as a manifestation of the fullness of time. I'll accept entries for two more days, then will post the poll. :)
It's getting bad that I can't even remember the images I sent!

He was never very good at meeting his deadlines, but I like the way his stories turned out so maybe that was good for him.

I could never get into his Dirk Gently books, but that was a long time ago. Maybe I'll give them another try.

Please don't do that Hermes, we would still like to see what you have...and that way you still qualify for a participation trophy ;D

OK, just to make you happy. That obviously should have been "In that case, perhaps I should just throw in the towel and withdraw
with dignity."
