Title: This is harder than being a Christian!
Post by: mayitry2answer on December 02, 2011, 10:43:25 AM
Praise the Lord!

I wish to remain anonymous. You can call me Christian. I am NOT from America or Australia. I am a Christian. I became a Christian after reading the Bible. My age: between 30 to 60.

That's all for now. Happy to answer any questions anyone wish to ask.

Greetings, mayitry2answer. Blessèd be Our Noodly Lord the FSM; may you be ever drenched in His healing Sauce.

You are welcome and will be treated with courtesy - even if your beliefs aren't - provided you stick to our reasonable rules.  However on past form you have no chance whatever of converting any atheist here and should cherish no illusion of being the first.

My age is somewhere between senility and dementia.

Do you think roast beef can ever equal roast lamb?

Welcome to the congregation, ah no that has a religious connotation, welcome to the agglomeration.

Welcome to HAF.

Since I am more than familiar with Christianity (of various forms) my questions are the following:

1.  Why did you join HAF.
2.  Why did you provide such a broad age range rather than just not providing one at all?  30-60 is a big difference in age and life experience.
3.  Which Bible did you read...and did you read all of it (not asking for anything more than that)?

Glad you asked! :) :) :)

I have read it few times since I became a Christian back in 1997 and had been reading it again and again since. I just don't have the words to describe the feeling I have for the Word of God. In it I see the Wisdom of God.

I like to say more but I will stop here. Feel free to ask any other questions you have.

Thanks! If I could or I had the power to convert someone to Christ, I would convert my family and my relatives as none of them are believers. No men or women has that Power.

1.  Why did you join HAF.
     To ask and answer questions

2.  Why did you provide such a broad age range rather than just not providing one at all?  30-60 is a big difference in age and life experience.
I just don't want to be judged by race, color, age, etc.

3.  Which Bible did you read...and did you read all of it (not asking for anything more than that)?

King James Bible
NIV Bible
New King James Bible
I don't remember what version the first Bible I read.

Well forums tend to be a great leveler in this respect as one should be judged just on what one writes. You shouldn't worry about that here anyway as it is I have never seen any member express any racist or seriously sexist comments and as the owner is female I wouldn't expect any. We have active members from 15/16 to 60+ and from most English-speaking nations. We have a few theist members. Some members have always been atheists and some are ex-christians of various previous denomination so you are not likely to bring up any subjects that have not been brought up before.

People should be civil to you, but your ideas are only as respectable as you can make them so don't expect to go unchallenged once you have graduated to the serious forums.

Welcome to the forum. :D As many have said, all are accepted and welcome here, but attempts to convert are not. As for being judged by age, I first joined up here when I was but 15 and not once did I notice anyone think or speak less of me because of it. People here judge more on what you say than random facts about you.

Hope you enjoy your time here, always nice to have more views on things.

F'real, this is one of the most non-judgemental group of individuals I have ever come across on the internets.

I honestly don't think I've ever seen someone here shoot down another member for who they are, only for what they say.

That's unlikely to happen, since even if you told us your race, color, age, etc. we'd have no way of knowing that was true outside of actually meeting you, and that's probably not going to happen.

I've only been here for a little over a month, but I'm a Christian, and I agree with the above. This is really a very non-judgmental group.  I've haven't seen anyone judged for "what they are."

I think we have us another trojan street preacher, boys and girls...

EDIT: Oh, and here is my analysis of you so far:

QuotePraise the Lord!
An interesting intro opening on an atheist forum... Seen that before. Most, if not all those who made it are currently banned or otherwise gone.

QuoteI wish to remain anonymous.
...And yet you visit Internet forums, where certain people can find out quite a lot about you at need, unless you are very careful.

QuoteYou can call me Christian. I am NOT from America or Australia. I am a Christian. I became a Christian after reading the Bible. My age: between 30 to 60.
You didn't need to tell us any of that, which makes me think that this is a half-assed attempt at appearing interesting.

QuoteThat's all for now. Happy to answer any questions anyone wish to ask.
So your name suggests. What made you think that we wanted you to answer questions when choosing a screen name? And why did you avoid my question, specifically directed at you?

I think your job would be made quite a bit easier if you listed the questions you were expecting to be asked and the answers you were expecting us to look for.

Personally, until you demonstrate that you are indeed a potentially good addition to this site, I lean towards you being one or all the things listed in my above post.

Yes, but Mabus went around spamming disturbing messages heralding the end of the world and the destruction of atheists and whatnot...sort of what the bible says but that's besides the point...

Anyways I'm curious about this one.

Antioch's in Turkey.  They're mostly Moslems there.

Ye but the Christians used to run the place, he may be older than he says.

Welcome to the forum, sit tight, don't let the Asmos bite  :D
Hmmm... It seems I've never experienced this phenomenon. Asmo has only taught me his ways, which I suppose is better than being bitten... :) And welcome m2a. Nice to see a fellow Christian, although I must admit your reason for becoming a Christian startled me a bit. You read the Bible, then became a Christian? Was this out of the fear of hell or the appreciation of what God has done for humankind? And did you read the whole thing? So many questions I have for you.... :D

I think you'd remember if the Asmo bit you. You'd probably have thought, "What is such a strange gray lump doing biting my ankle?"

I did not. The Asmo usually only bites the less likeable people - and even they usually need to deserve it first.  ;D

It figures such a thing would actually exist.  Apologies for my mind wandering into strange pastures, I've spent most of the last 5 days sick in bed and I'm sticking to that as an excuse.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Historically, the easiest way to become an athiest is to read way more than one book. If god made you he also gave you a sophisticated brain, why would he then say something like "read mostly of this one book". Go on googe and read the "100 most important books", just as an experiment.

No, in fact I'm going to have an excuse for extra loopiness another 5 days -- a trip to the dr. yesterday got me stuck with infusers, more meds and mandated bedrest until the 13th.  The irony is that I'd decided against taking a week's vacation this month, now I've got one whether I like it or not.  Well, at least Deirdre the cat is happy, having company during the day for so long.

And before I forget again, congratulations on your continuing education achievement.  There was a party, I hope, to celebrate?

Went out to a very nice resturant for a very posh Xmas dinner.

Sorry too hear you're not feeling any better. I hope the meds and bedrest do the trick. (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg163.imageshack.us%2Fimg163%2F7355%2Fconsoling2.gif&hash=3a8ffba6dd009744a227ffe4896f21813251a0c2)
